Ron Lock – Bass Player and Vocalist

To try to describe the Ron’s talents is a challenge in itself – it might seem unfair that a man of such youthful good looks should also possess an unrivalled abundance of musical talent.  Yes he was at the front of the queue when God handed out such gifts (actually he probably pushed in!).

Ron is a founder member of Blindhouse.  He and the original keyboard player had the idea of the band in early 1999 (See History of Blindhouse) and took it from being a local Wiltshire Rock and Roll/Soul band into a …well … a local Wiltshire Rock and Roll/Soul band.

Ron was a musician back in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s when he was a (very young) member of two bands “Five and a Penny” (Female vocalist called Penny + five musicians – clever eh?) and “Mighty Hard” – a heavy metal band (all hair and free love! – difficult for Ron to remember much about it).   Both bands produced singles – one of them a minor hit. The second single has recently been re released on a 70’s compilation heavy rock album. Ron also had two original songs published at the time, but unfortunately no artist recorded them - although he remains ever hopeful.

Between 1976 and 1999 Ron did very little musically, his guitars residing un-played in the loft, his family responsibilities taking up his time and energies (also his money).  Then possibly as part of a mid life crisis Ron decided that the world (or the village of Shrewton more likely) needed to once again witness his talents whether they wanted to or not.   So he and a fellow musical talent got together to develop the idea of Blindhouse and as they say, the rest is history.

Ron is now a cornerstone of Blindhouse providing the foundation for the band’s sounds with his pulsating bass riffs –  (according to Ron).   He also provides some male vocal interest in the band (mind you with three blond female vocalists, there isn’t a lot of interest!).
